Kianga Jinaki is a self-taught Fiber artist whose dolls, quilts, and mixed-media works have been exhibited both nationally and internationally since 1991. She is a two-time recipient of the Neighborhood Artist Residency Grant by the Palm Beach Cultural Council. Kianga has worked as a teaching artist for The Center for Creative Education, The Norton Museum of Art, The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, The African- American Resource Library and Cultural Center, Armory Arts Center and Spady Cultural Museum. She was recently in an exhibition of Florida CraftArt’s Permanent Collection at Crealde and was a featured artist at the Heritage Center at Hannibal Square in Winter Park, Florida. Kianga has lived in Palm Beach County for more than 30 years.
Things to bring to the workshop:
- Hand-sewing needles
- Hand-sewing thread (1) light color and (1) dark color spool.
- Any additional embellishments that you may wish to add to your heart
- Portable sewing machine. (Instructor will bring two machines to share.)
