Florida CraftArt’s Permanent Collection evolved after the organization established statewide headquarters and gallery in 1986 in St. Petersburg, Florida, under the direction of its first executive director, Michele Tuegel.

Florida CraftArt’s Permanent Collection is an enduring contribution to Florida’s cultural society, representing a vibrant cross-section of fine craft artists living and working in Florida since 1951.

The traveling exhibition consists of more than 70 pieces, by distinguished Florida craft artists, including Kimberli Cummings, John Eckert, Paul Eppling, Christine Federighi, Ray Ferguson, Kristin Holeman, Jack and Kaki King, Laura Militzer-Bryant, Charlie Parker, Taylor Robenalt, Vince Sansone, Bonnie Seeman, and Barbara Sorenson.

The goals of the collection, today consisting of more than 200 objects, are to recognize the cultural significance of Florida’s fine craft art in our broad artistic landscape, document the rich tradition of craft art throughout Florida and beyond, and to educate and inspire future generations of artists and arts appreciators.
