Vision

Florida CraftArt presents Formed by Fire. This brings together artists working in traditional metal casting methods and contemporary metal fabrication, emphasizing the transformative role of heat and process. This exhibition explores how material, technique, and force shape both form and meaning, revealing a dynamic balance between control and unpredictability inherent in working with metal.

This exhibition is open to work made primarily of metal, whether through casting, fabrication, or hybrid approaches that maintain metal as the dominant material. Submissions may range from functional to sculptural, but all should demonstrate a clear engagement with the physical properties of metal and the processes that shape it. Through this focus, Formed by Fire highlights the enduring and evolving possibilities of metal as both material and message.

Note: Formed by Fire is a “hybrid” open-call and invitational exhibition, meaning that it will include a combination of artists invited directly by the curator and artists chosen from the open call-for-entry by the curator.
