Future Form Gallery Conversation

Join us for a lively, interactive panel discussion led by Gillian Harper, Florida CraftArt’s Gallery Director, with the Curator of Future Form, Mary Ratcliff, and exhibiting artist, Kimberlie Tatalick.  Presented as a part of Future Form, this special Gallery Conversation takes a behind-the-scenes look at how artists and curators are examining the intersection of technology and traditional craft.

Mary Ratcliff
Mary Ratcliff is an artist and educator whose work explores the intersection of art, technology, and material practice. Based in St. Petersburg, Ratcliff works as the lead CAD designer at MGM Sculpture Studio. Her work spans a range of professional and collaborative experiences, including operating a state-of-the-art fabrication facility supporting hands-on, interdisciplinary learning and fosters innovation through experimentation and process-based making, freelance design work and contributions to projects with the sculptor Blessing Hancock, SwayBox Studios, and Skyrim Studio, as well as leading a National Science Foundation–funded welding and fabrication initiative. Across these roles, she brings together technical expertise and creative inquiry to support an evolving, interdisciplinary approach to contemporary art and fabrication.

Kimberlie Tatalick
Kimberlie Tatalick earned a B.F.A in Metals and Jewelry and  B.S. in Education from Miami University in 1994 and a M.F.A in Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM from Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 1996. Tatalick’s research focuses on the integration of new technology into the art jewelry field. Her work has been exhibited at The National Ornamental Metal Museum, Miami University Art Museum, Velvet DaVinci Gallery and Wexler Gallery and published in Metalsmith Magazine, Lapidary Journal and JCK Magazine. Tatalick taught at Savannah College of Art and Design for nearly 20 years. She currently lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is the owner and operator of Kimmie T Studio LLC; a company that produces wearable fine jewelry.
