Creative Discovery Workshops for Children and Families 4-Point Ornament

Children and families, please join us December 9th at 1:30p.m. for our Creative Discovery Workshop of ornament making!

This workshop is hosted by Tampa Bay Basketmakers Guild and taught by artist Emily Stehle. Students will be assembling a woven ornament called a 4 point, God’s Eye, or Ojo de Dios in Spanish. It is considered a magical object and is an ancient cultural symbol for the Huichol and Tepehuan Indians of western Mexico. Students will learn historical references and technical skills involved with this particular ornament.

Cost is $5 per member of Florida CraftArt and $10 per nonmember. All materials provided. Scholarships are available. Children must be accompanied by an adult who may also take the class if space allows.
